OFFICIAL POWER RANKINGS: 2016-17 basketball road trip destinations

If I may divert your attention away from football and our tightly contested quest for another Mountain West division title, we do have a full season of bouncy hoops on the horizon. Many questions about this team remain unanswered.

How will the newcomers fit into coach Fisher’s rotation? Will Jeremy Hemsley make the proverbial jump from promising freshman to dominant sophomore? Could Zylan Cheatham lob an alley-oop so high that even he, himself could not slam it down?

But even above all those is: which road trips should fans be planning? Between Fresno, Albuquerque, Reno, Phoenix and Honolulu, there are a lot fun and exciting places to develop a crippling addiction to crystal meth with the locals. Not to mention the big city excitement of Chicago, Las Vegas and Logan, Utah.

Who is responsible for SDSU’s winning chemistry? It me

I started as a freshman at San Diego State in 2006.

Growing up two hours north, the extent of my familiarity with San Diego State sports was: “Hey, that’s where Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila went!” At that time in my life I was a Packers fan who really didn’t care about anything other than NFL or NBA, so I’m not only pandering to the editorial staff that was kind enough to welcome me here.

But I was excited to immerse myself in college sports.

That time I went HAM in Fisherville

If you’re reading this, it’s probably safe to assume you are an Aztecs fan, and, in turn, also probably safe to assume you remember 2011. Particularly the Spring of 2011. The SDSU men’s basketball team was in the midst of an incredible, historical season. The end of February saw us gearing up for a highly anticipated matchup with BYU. I won’t talk about the game itself because we all know how that turned out and I doubt any of you reading would want to relive it.
