Frisco Bowl Recap: I’m not mad, I’m actually laughing

San Diego State football entered 2018 on the heels of one of the best stretches in program history, ripping off 32 wins in three seasons. The 2018 season just ended with probably the lowest ebb of the Rocky Long era — a rain-soaked 27-0 loss to Ohio University in the Frisco Bowl in which the suspension-depleted Aztecs didn’t look particularly interested to be there.

If only, friend. If only.

SDSU rounds out 2019 and 2020 football schedules with home-and-home vs. obscure Utah diploma mill

Remember Brigham Young University? No? Me, either.

According to Wikipedia, Brigham Young (or BYU as it is known for short) is a for-profit university jointly owned by the Church of Scientology and the Kremlin that currently plays intercollegiate sports in the Big Sky. Anyway, *apparently* this team was a conference rival of ours in the Mountain West until 2011, when it was defeated and mocked so thoroughly by Kawhi Leonard that it withdrew from the league out of cowardice and spite and cowardice.

This doesn’t sound familiar at all tbh, but apparently there is footage of the event in question.

Well, that certainly does look humiliating!

Why does any of this matter now? Because apparently our two schools are about to become reacquainted in the sport of football!

The Aztecs men’s basketball team took a trip to Taco Bell on Saturday night and it went about as well as you might expect. It started out pretty tasty, but ended up with us all doubled over in pain and weeping on the toilet.

Look, I know. I’m sorry.

I should really feel worse about going with the hackneyed LOL TACO BELL ARENA joke as my lede, but I just don’t. Sure it’s lazy and cheap and unimaginative, but did this game – does this team – really deserve any more effort than that?

Also I’ve consumed several beers.

Aztecs ensure great deals for secondary market ticket buyers, lose to New Mexico

One game into the the Mountain West slate, and the San Diego State men’s basketball season is already a fully engulfed tire fire. I’m not sure whether to weep or just be grateful I never got the chance to really invest myself in this lost cause.

Thanks, I guess?

I don’t know, maybe that’s a little too harsh. But in the wake of the Aztecs’ disheartening 68-62 loss at Viejas on Sunday to an extremely meh New Mexico squad, I don’t think it is.

Aztecs, our fragile sense of dignity get destroyed on senior night

What the hell am I supposed to say about this, honestly? I’m tempted to emulate the infamous Pitchfork Jet review for this game recap, but this is a family blog dammit.

I guess I’ll just let the highlight reel from SDSU’s senior night football game against Colorado State speak for itself.

Huh, well that’s not the right video, either. Whatever, it’s not like you want to see clips of a 63-31 loss anyway. My advice is to stop reading this now and we can both spend the next hour watching Travis videos. Deal?

Still here, huh?

Sigh. Fine, if you must read on …
